Carbon Vudu L.L.C. is a design organization dedicated to fabricated modules for living and working in. We utilize a systematic approach to conceptualize, develop, and actualize new and innovative products that will help us live better and work smarter.
Carbon is the basic unit for organic molecules, and it comes in second out of six major elements that make up 99% of the human body. All life on earth is based on carbon. Carbon is also the principal alloying element that transforms soft iron into hard and useful steel. As the carbon content rises, the metal becomes harder and stronger. However, it also becomes more brittle and more difficult to weld. Everything in moderation, my friend. Strong and lightweight, steel is the most important engineering and construction material in the world. Its use influences almost every aspect of our lives through tools, manufacturing, transportation, and architecture. Vudu refers to the manipulation of steel–not only to create built spaces for human use, but to enhance our lives by transforming traditional static architecture to become something that is kinetic, interactive, and responsive to our moods, the seasons, and to changes in our environment.

Pearce was born in Phoenix. Before his career in architecture/fabrication, he was in the U.S. Marine Corps and traveled the world as a STA Marine, Scout Sniper with the MOS 8541. His deployments overseas took him to many places. After serving his country, Pearce spent time in odd jobs in Coronado, CA as a lifeguard/swim instructor, bartender and boat builder before attending San Diego Police Academy where he won the “Top Gun” award. After graduating he relocated to Idaho because of the recession in California in 1992. Pearce worked several construction jobs and came across his passion for architecture and then switched careers. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in architecture and a minor in art from the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. His thesis focused on kinetic architecture with an emphasis on human interaction with nature. Pearce now resides in downtown Phoenix and is dedicated to community involvement through design, construction and fabrication.
